1. The other night I made some soup. Of course, Luke - seeing that there was a variety of veggies contaminating it - started having a bad attitude. So, Adam asked Luke to bless the food and said that maybe he should ask Heavenly Father to make his soup yummy. Luke's prayer: "Please, bless my soup to taste yummy and bless daddy's soup to taste yucky." Followed by a bit of giggling. No wonder Heavenly Father loves children.
2. Luke's on a kick lately of saying, "It's the master of...". His latest one is, "Coconut oil is the master of good foods, huh? And, sugar is the master bad food."
3. We love our chickens. So, of course, we have honored a few of them with some names. Well, I guess the boys deserve the credit for the names. Here are the names that they have come up with so far: Liz, Goldie, Hawkie, Cutie (because they think her black eyes are cute), and Zebrie (because she is black and white striped-ish). I love my little chicken farmers.
4. Elise started standing on her own a few weeks back. Man, I've been bad at documenting her milestones. My prediction is another month or so before she walks. Which is fine by me. It already seems like time has been shifted into warp speed this last year, I'm fine with her taking her time.
So, she's not standing here, but she sure is cute, nonetheless.
5. I ran my first half marathon with the best running companion one could ask for. My brother, Matt, is pretty much the funniest person you will meet, so, I try to tag along with him any chance I can. If it means running 14 miles, then so be it. Well, I think I can say it wasn't as bad as I expected... until about mile 10, then my body was ready to be done. But, I kept plugging along and crossed the finish line. Yay! Cross that off the list... and erase 'Complete full marathon' from it. If you want to laugh out loud, check out Matt's breakdown of the race. And, if you feel like laughing some more, just continue reading through his blog:http://loveridges.blogspot.com/2011/08/running-on-empty.html
The pictures:
I think I'm going to stop taking my camera on hikes...
... We spend half our time posing by various plants...
... and rocks...
... and fighting over who's turn it is to pose on the rock...
... but, I guess it's worth it.
Oh, yeah, I had a birthday. And, Adam, being the stud he is, pulled off a surprise party and new bike without me ever suspecting either. What a good man!
We went camping with Grandma Loveridge and the Hopkins for the Johansen reunion. Uncle Chris was good enough to help the boys catch some fish, since Adam couldn't make it.
Isaac's first day of school at Soldier Hollow. He is loving it (except for when I have to wake him up in the morning).
Asa, running up for the big hug when he spotted Isaac. I'll miss the day when my boys are afraid of PDA.
Oh my, that prayer made me laugh out loud. Luke is just too funny. Congrats on your half marathon. Running sucks, but it's on my list too! So excited you got a bike. Mountain or road? Bikes are the BEST!
ReplyDeleteYou're kids are cute, and you're way too nice. I'm thinking next year we should do a triathalon,. What do you think?
ReplyDeleteI feel like we don't see everyone as much lately. It's kind of a bummer, why doesn't everyone start looking for houses around the Pleasant Grove area ( because I don't think I'm going to win in my attempts to get Jackie to move to Heber)
